Hi l o v e l i e s ! my name is lindsey — it’s wonderful to meet you and have the opportunity to share my story with you..

i made my very first lotion ball in 2016 while living in my friends basement and in the midst of trying, endlessly, to get and s t a y WELL. eventually, liivwell was born out of my growing love for wellness and clean, pure beauty.

i have a low immune system, have dealt with mold illness (a whole other story) and an annoying allergy to a anti-bacterial preservative that can also become a carcinagin (sodium benzoate, benzoyl peroxide, avobenzene, oxybenzene, benzoyl alcohol, methybenzoyl, etc) that seems to be in most hair and skin care products these days. i worked in the cosmetology industry for over 10 years and was around a lot of chemicals all day including the ones i was allergic to. shortly after the whole Braziian Blowout craze in utah county around 2010 i started to become unwell and i belived it was from chemicals and my very unhealthy stylist diet (even though i wasn't a soda or coffee drinker, or adderall popper like many of my fellow stylists).

i thought i was depressed and sick from chemicals and packed my bags and left the cosmetology industry. it wasn't until 2021 when i was sick yet again and found mold in my brand-new (2 years old) home from a poorly installed shower that i was able to trace my illness back to 2011 and discover that i lived in mold and the underlying cause for my feeling unwell originally was from toxic mold in the rental home i lived in with roommates (who also were sick with differing ailments).

for years, i used coconut oil from a jar as my only full-body lotion, but eventually I grew tired of the greasy feel and the mess and inconvenience of scooping crumbly oil from a jar. so I made my own creation. something that worked for me. something that was healing, cleansing, pure, convenient to use AND  luxurious to apply.

 

ballm

my first ballm, was made for my own use but, eventually, i wanted to share this creation with the world. since it was a completely new product and a completely new way of applying lotion i wanted to give it its own name, so i gave my product the nickname "loba" short for 'lotion ball'. but, truthfully, i don't think my product is "lotion". lotion is a greasy, oily substance you pump from a plastic bottle.. and ballm? ballm ain't that. so i needed a NEW name and my loba's were renamed ballm. a healing balm in a ball.

each of the ingredients used in our blends are manufactured in areas where the plant or crop grows indigenously and is shipped to our facility.

uur manufacturing process is done in a small batch facility and made by hand. no plastic or latex is used during production. All products are organic, vegan and cruelty-free.
